2015 FIAT 500c vs 2015 Hyundai Veloster near Norfolk, VA

The Hyundai Veloster will be a favorite with taller drivers due to its greater front head- and legroom than the FIAT 500. However, the FIAT 500 offers rear passengers about the same space to stretch out as the Hyundai Veloster with comparable rear head and legroom in both vehicles.

2015 FIAT 500c Power & Handling

The 2015 FIAT 500 has several powertrain offerings beginning with their base engine, the 101-horsepower, 1.4-liter four-cylinder engine which receives up to 40 MPG highway fuel economy ratings. The available 135-hp, 1.4-liter four-cylinder (Turbo) engine produces a little more horsepower, and both engines are paired with either a five-speed manual or six-speed automatic transmission depending on which trim is selected.

2015 Hyundai Veloster Power & Handling

The Veloster's 138-horsepower, 1.6-liter four-cylinder base engine has modest overall power. The Veloster Turbo is immediately quicker. Its turbocharged 1.6-liter engine makes 201 hp and 195 pounds-feet of torque, which is good for smooth-revving, punchy thrills as the tachometer's needle ascends.

2015 FIAT 500c Features & Design

In addition to the New 7-inch TFT display, an available parking screen helps drivers while moving in reverse if the vehicle is equipped with Rear Park Assist. Other screen options include a radio screen which displays information about the station selected and a telephone screen showing call information for connected devices. Other interior updates for 2015 feature a redesigned center console in order to make it more useful for drivers, the revamped console includes a new cup holder design and an additional, conveniently located USB port that is fully functional and integrated with the radio.

2015 Hyundai Veloster Features & Design

Hyundai's familiar "Fluidic Sculpture" styling has its strangest canvas yet in the Veloster, a three-door hatchback with a backdoor only on the curb side. It takes some getting used to, both outside and in, with a B-pillar to one side but not the other. There is no oddness about the Veloster's center crossbar that splits the rear window and obscures some of the view behind you, as the same is found on the Toyota Prius and other cars; still, it's straight-up annoying here, too. 17-inch alloy wheels are standard; 18s are optional.

Since the FIAT 500 is much slimmer than the Hyundai Veloster, it'll be much easier to find a wide enough space in a crowded parking lot. If you go with the FIAT 500, you'll have a much easier time finding a large enough space to park than you will with the Hyundai Veloster.
